about

Recorded for February Album Writing Month, 2015.

lyrics

Higgledy Piggledy
Mr Resistable
Shunned and avoided
By all he would cross

As popular as a great
Leaden dirigible
Couldn't convince himself
It was their loss

Pumbleduff Rumbletuff
Mr Resistable
Therefore took matters
Into his own hands

At the apothecary
Bought a comestible
Love potion priced at
An acre of land

(Loveless and landless
Our Mister Resistable
Soon would be in for more
Than he could stand)

...

Vladimir Nabakov
Mr Resistable
Soon found things taking
A turn for the worse

As pensioners Celtic
At rest in the vestibule
Whispered 'I love you'
In saturnine Erse

Benedict Cumberbatch
Mr Resistable
Struggled in vain
To escape down the street

With newfound attractiveness
Rather too literal
Dogs at his ankles
And gum at his feet

(Covered in coveters
Mr Resistable
Struggled to fend off
The friends that he'd meet)

...

Gloria Excelsis
Mr Resistable
Shouted 'I see now!'
And let out a laugh

'I've just been engaging
In thinking more critical'
While shaking whippets
From off of his calf

'It's all about attitude -
Mr Resistable
Isn't a title to
Give to oneself'

From that day onwards
He's Mitch Optimistical
Leaving his tribulations
On the shelf

...

Now, as an epilogue
All the effects wore off
But not before it took
One last effect

Mitch now lives happily
With the apothecary
After ten years,
Irresistable yet
